Lawsuit Alleges e-tailer Wrongdoing
Ashford.com, a major luxury e-tailing company which sells everything from watches and branded fine jewelry to fragrances and leather items was recently name in a lawsuit alleging the company was altering serial numbers on watches and selling used watches as new.

According to the company's CEO, Kenny Kurtzman, the case is still in litigation but the company's policy is to send certification authenticating serial numbers with every purchase.

Ashford.com reported net sales of $4.4 million for the second quarter of 1999 and a loss from operations for the same quarter of $9 million! Despite the huge loss they intend to open distribution facilities next year in Europe and Japan.
